Just messin' around in PS!!

This is my best friend Jamie...I don't think I have ever met anyone as photogenic as she is!  She is just so beautiful both inside and out.  I took these a really long time ago but stumbled upon them today and started to play with them in Photo Shop.  I went a little crazy but thought they were still cool or should I say different.  Just wanted to share!!  ~fara

Time...please slow down!

This fall my baby will start kindergarten, where has five years gone?  I think I pray daily for time to just slow a little.  I know it sounds so cliche but they really do grow up so, so fast...our children are ours for such a short time.  If I had one wish it would be for time to slow and for my children to stay little longer.

So Mason received some money for Christmas and I told him that if he let me take pictures of him I would take him to Target to buy something with his Christmas money, DEAL!  So we went to Target and Mason fell in love with this hat, he had to buy it and he has wore it ever since.  He also bought a pair of slippers, which I thought was so cute because big brother got slippers for Christmas and Mason had to have some too.  What almost five year old do you know that will spend cash at Target on a pair of slippers and a hat?  So our pictures had to include the newly purchased hat from Target...take a look!

Goodbye 2008 . . .

I would be lying if I said that 2008 was a fabulous year.  I was met with many challenges and my fair share of trials...you know, those things in life that get the credit for making a person who they are, or so they say.  I have learned MUCH, lost quite a bit, endured long and have emerged on the other side with a few life lessons.  I have so much to be thankful for and so much to look forward to.  I am no longer going to sit back and wait for success to roll up in my lap or depend on another to make me smile.  I am now convinced that I can do most ANYTHING I set my mind to.  I have amazing friends and a wonderful family.  I live in the best country on earth and I am RICH compared to the worlds standard.  I have learned that no matter what one day holds the sun will always rise on another, and I have learned that baby steps are a sure way to get where you are going if the journey seems long.  I am so blessed, so loved, so grateful and so hopeful of what 2009 has waiting.  So with the end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009 I will watch with tears as my baby goes off to Kindergarten, I will celebrate 10 years of marriage, I will celebrate many things for the first time without my Mom, I will learn to laugh more, I will take more chances and never look back with regret, I will love more fully and most of all I will not be afraid of failing, after all isn't that how we learn.

To all of my 2008 clients...Thank You for your support and trust, I wouldn't be here today without you!

I wanted to share some of the very first pictures taken with my brand new Nikon D700 that Santa brought me!  Matthew was such a good sport today when I drug him outside in the freezing cold to play with my new camera.  Did I mention how much I love my camera.  I am truly in heaven!  Or should I say so very blessed!  ~fara

The words of another person

I have never been a writer, I have made many really good attempts at it but never had that gift like so many other amazing people I admire and look up to, such as Jasmine Star, Holly Brimhall, Joyce Smith or Sheye Rosemeyer just to name a few.  Sometimes I just sit and read as if I were reading some juicy romance novel.  But what I love the most and what always keeps me coming back is the ability that some have to inspire another person with just their words or their story.  Sometimes it is just a sentence, sometimes it is a couple paragraphs, either way I never walk away (from MOST blogs) without being touched in some way.  I can't tell you how many blogs I read that leave me sitting with tears rolling down my cheeks and how many I read that make me want to jump up and dive head first into this life with all I have, running strait toward the finish line never slowing for even a second to look back.  I am so greatful for the words of other people, oh how they have inspired me to love more, live more fully, laugh longer and have filled me with the desire to be betterI hug my children alittle tighter now, I take risks that I would have probably never taken before, I try to laugh more often...I am better now because I have read the words of another person and they left a mark on my life.  I am forever greatful for that.  I am not an amazing writer...but I feel it is so important to share the words that make up the story of our lives, because...you never know who may be reading.  I am going to try to post more, write longer and share better.  I have a story too, and if it inspires just one person than why not tell it?  Thank you to all who have told their stories from behind keys of their keyboards...you have no way of knowing how many lives you have touched, or how many people who have cryed with you...I am different now...Thank you for that!

The exprssion on Mason's face in this picture is how I feel right now so I thought it appropriate to add this picture of him...taken the same day as the picture below.

JUST ONE of my greatest accomplishments and deepest joys...

Practice makes PERFECT...

I was always taught that Rome wasn't built in a day, that practice makes perfect, that if you want something bad enough you have to work for it.  Ok, I get all of that, I am willing to do my part to be the best photographer I can possibly be.  Well that is where my 4 & 8 year old come into the picture.  All I wanted was 30 minutes today to snap some quick pictures...practicing, experimenting, just playing around.  You would have thought I had asked them to eat uncooked snails!  I was shocked at the disgust in their voices when I approached them with the idea of instead of going right home, lets stop and take some pictures at a little place on the way that I have been wanting to check out.  I couldn't believe it, I quietly sat at the red light thinking to myself I have ruined my children.  They will never be able to sit in front of a camera again as long as they live.  They hate it...absolutely hate it.  What have I done?  I know there are little girls out there that would stand in front of the camera for hours upon hours, but not my boys.  Needless to say I was disappointed and let them both know it.  I said to them "how am I suppose to be a GREAT photographer if I don't practice?  And who am I suppose to practice on?"  They both got quite and for a moment I thought they felt my pain and had some sympathy on me.  I explained to them that they were all I had...they did suggest that I practice on the cats, pretty clever of them!  I don't think I really got through to them the way I intended.  I was able to click my shutter 47 times today.  I was just wanting a little cooperation, some time for practice, after all practice does make PERFECT!  ~fara

Sweet Family

My urge to have have little girl has always been extremely strong, anyone who knows me knows that I long to have a daughter someday!  I don't know if it is possible but these two just sealed the deal...if I wanted a daughter before I really want a daughter now.  They were so precious...the dresses, the shoes, the hair clips ***sigh*** ah, just the cuteness of them.

But don't take my word for it...just look!
